Botulinum toxins are injectable compounds that relax muscles, smoothing out lines and wrinkles. There are several brands of neurotoxins, and one of the most well known is BOTOX® Cosmetic, but we also work with Jeuveau, Dysport, Xeomin.
How does BOTOX® work when injected at Visage' Medispa of Suffolk County, NY?
BOTOX® blocks the transmission of acetylcholine from the nerves to the muscle. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter that sends a message to the muscle telling it to contract or tense up. With the flow of acetylcholine blocked or significantly reduced, the muscle can no longer retract and it relaxes. As a result, the wrinkled areas smooth out and soften.
When BOTOX® is administered properly you will have a wrinkle-free forehead, with plenty of expression!

Q: How Long Does the Tox treatment procedure take?
A: Botox Cosmetic takes only about 10 minutes or less and requires almost no downtime, you will be able to return to work the same day as your treatment. We do allow extra time for the consulting process so you and your practitioner feel comfortable with the desired results.
Q: Is there Down Time:
A: Sometimes, there may be slight redness at the injection sites that usually resolves in an hour. Normal activities can be continued that same day, but avoid strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours after your injections. Do not massage the treated areas, this is important, as you may unintentionally cause the BOTOX to migrate to other areas.
Q: How soon do you see results from Botox eyebrow lift?
A: While it varies depending on the person, Botox starts to take effect a few days after the treatment and most patients can see the full results of Botox within two weeks. Here at Visage' MediSpa, we will require you to wait the full two weeks to see optimal results before we can see you for your follow-up appointment.
